Vincent van Gogh - The Yellow House F6 | Hand-Painted Oil Painting Framed for Home Decor
Vincent van Gogh painted The Yellow House in 1888, depicting the house where he lived in Arles, France. He rented this house with the dream of creating a “Studio of the South,” a shared space where artists could live and work together.
In this painting, the bright yellow house stands under a blue sky, surrounded by streets, trees, and people. Van Gogh paid great attention to color contrast, making the combination of yellow and blue particularly striking. Part of the house served as his residence, while another section functioned as a restaurant run by Madame Gachet.
However, after his relationship with Paul Gauguin deteriorated and the infamous ear-cutting incident occurred, Van Gogh was forced to leave the house. The Yellow House symbolizes both his dreams and the struggles that followed.
The building was later destroyed during World War II, but this painting remains a valuable glimpse into the Arles of Van Gogh’s time.
